Ksalol Tablets are primarily prescribed for the treatment of the panic disorder, due to their benzodiazepine properties. It is only recommended for severe panic disorders, especially in conditions when the patient is facing extreme distress. It is subjected for the short term to cure severe anxiety and depression.
Mechanism of Action:
Ksalol binds to γ-aminobutyric acid (GABAA) receptors at the interface of α and γ subunits. The activation of this receptor opens chloride channels which prevent the transmission of neuronal impulses across the synapse. This drug potentiates the effect of these receptors and increases the frequency with which chloride channels open, thereby hyperpolarizing the membrane and reducing nerve conduction.
