Diazepam is a medicinal drug that belongs to a class of benzodiazepine (ben-Zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peen).
The drug is used to treat several conditions including anxiety disorders and ambiances caused by alcohol
withdrawal commonly known as agitation or tremors. Diazepam also has uses in treatment against
skeletal muscle spasms and certain types of seizures.
Mechanism of Action:
Diazepam enhances the performance activities of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which is a unique chemical whose functionality is to spread message signals throughout the CNS (Central Nervous system).
It has a long lasting effect on central nervous system. Diazepam increases the amount of GABA in your
body which flits your body from an excited state and will be beneficial in treatment against seizures,
anxiety and muscle spasms.
